Plant 3,700 native trees around the Cedar riverbank in Cairo
Help us clean and replant the Cedar riverbank before the October planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world1,277 views
The Cedar riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 45 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 82 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $350 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $55
• Native saplings and stakes: $155
• Waste removal and skip hire: $140
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ali.
Sure. The biggest one is tools and protective gear, $55. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
