Plant 3,150 native trees around Baobab Creek in Mumbai
Volunteers are restoring Baobab Creek in Mumbai; $450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India958 views
Baobab Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This November, 78 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 177 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $210
• Tools and protective gear: $115
• Waste removal and skip hire: $125
Thank you so much.

how is Rohit doing now?
Sending love. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Chiang Mai donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
Keep going. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
