Palate reconstruction surgery for Noreen: covering what insurance won't
After a hip fracture that never healed properly, Noreen was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In August I was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly. My surgeon at Mardan University Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $860, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $600 short.
Doctors at Mardan University Hospital told me a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. I work as a warehouse packer, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $860 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a warehouse packer have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $600 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $290
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $180
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $30
• Physiotherapy sessions: $65
• Post-operative medication: $35
