Jameson was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at Toronto Community Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $4,200 short. my husband has been in and out of Toronto Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Jameson struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Jameson won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $4,200 goes: • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $430 • Post-operative medication: $280 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,150 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $1,340 If you're reading this, thank you.
