Palate reconstruction surgery for Alamin: covering what insurance won't
After a large ovarian cyst, Alamin was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In November I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Khulna General Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for February. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $750 short.
Doctors at Khulna General Hospital told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $750 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $360
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $195
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
• Post-operative medication: $25
• Physiotherapy sessions: $95
• Travel and lodging for the family: $10
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Best of luck, Alamin. Hope this works out for you. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.
