Clean streams for Makati: restoring Cedar Beach
Volunteers are restoring Cedar Beach in Makati; $250 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇵🇭 Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines727 views
Cedar Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 72 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 103 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $85
• Waste removal and skip hire: $100
• Signage and educational materials: $65
Thanks for being kind about this.

How is Teodoro doing now?
So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope October is when things finally get easier.
Thinking of you, Teodoro. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Best of luck, Teodoro. Hope this works out for you. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.
