William is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a nursing degree at Rochester State College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,000.
The registrar has said William can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. William has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term William would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
William isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Rochester State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $5,000 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,500
• Final term tuition: $2,950
• Exam and lab fees: $100
• Textbooks and materials: $450
