Caruaru
Valentina is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Caruaru Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,400. The registrar has said Valentina can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Valentina has a first-class average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Valentina would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Valentina isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $1,400 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $950 • Final term tuition: $350 • Exam and lab fees: $50 • Textbooks and materials: $50 If you're reading this, thank you. - Simone

Take care, Simone. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
