Sharmila is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a master's in public health at the Narayanganj Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $200.
The registrar has said Sharmila can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sharmila has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sharmila would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Sharmila isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $200 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $20
• Outstanding tuition balance: $155
• Exam and lab fees: $25
Thank you so much.

Hope things get better soon, Mim. This could happen to any of us. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings
Good luck, Mim. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors.
Rooting for you, Mim. Shared this with my family. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Narayanganj!
