Liberty Park needs a youth football pitch - Nnamdi's neighborhood project
A community-led a youth football pitch at Liberty Park that will serve 226 neighbors.
🇳🇬 Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria263 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 226 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $115
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
Glad we found this place.

How is Nnamdi doing now?
your post was clear and honest. After 29 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
sending good thoughts. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. God bless
Sending good thoughts, Nnamdi. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Greetings from Xalapa
