Santiago is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at the Tlaquepaque Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,300. The registrar has said Santiago can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Santiago has a 3.9 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Santiago would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Santiago isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Tlaquepaque Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,300 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $730 • Final term tuition: $360 • Exam and lab fees: $90 • Textbooks and materials: $120 Thanks for reading all this.

  • Praying for you, Ana. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Tlaquepaque

    • Thanks for sharing this, Ana. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care!
