I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an agriculture degree at the Los Angeles Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,550.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.6 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Los Angeles Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,550 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,200
• Textbooks and materials: $260
• Final term tuition: $2,090
Every share and every dollar helps.

Good luck, Rubén. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this, Rubén. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best
