Bacolod

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an agriculture degree at Bacolod Community College, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,050. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Bacolod Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,050 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $460 • Final term tuition: $500 • Exam and lab fees: $35 • Textbooks and materials: $55 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Nenita

Updates from Nenita

Quick update: $249 raised so far (24%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($154 in total) I made the first payment toward exam and lab fees. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
