Odhiambo needs my tuk-tuk repaired to get back to work in Kasarani
Odhiambo drives for a living in Kasarani, and a broken gearbox has stopped all income for 5 weeks.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 5 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $210. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my 2 children. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $210 goes:
• gearbox replacement (parts): $115
• Labor charges: $60
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $30
• Towing and inspection: $5
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hang in there. Hope the shop reopens soon.
Thanks for sharing this. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. My husband and I read this together. Blessings
You're not alone, Odhiambo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
best of luck, Odhiambo. Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Madrid but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Madrid.
So sorry you're going through this, Odhiambo. Small businesses are the heart of Kasarani. Hope you're open again soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Surabaya.
