I'm caring for my father, who's 91. After a stroke last August Obinna can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Obinna desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Obinna worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $650 goes: • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $50 • Part-time carer (three months): $480 • Medication and prescriptions: $120 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
