Như needs palate reconstruction surgery at Albany Community Hospital and the family is $4,750 short of the hospital's estimate.

Như was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in March. The surgeon at Albany Community Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,750 short.
my mother has been in and out of Albany Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Như struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Như won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Như.
Sure. The biggest one is hospital stay (2 nights), $1,650. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
