Since a sudden redundancy in September, I'm now raising a toddler and a seven-year-old on my own. I work as a care worker, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries. I'm retraining as an electrician in the evenings, which will triple my income by December, but I need to bridge the gap until then. Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them. Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward. Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown. Where the $600 goes: • Rent top-up: $320 • Childcare and after-school care: $150 • Groceries and school meals: $60 • Course fees and exam costs: $70 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Natnael

  • You're not alone, Natnael. I hope things turn around soon. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

    • Take care. Shared this with my family. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.

      • thanks for sharing this, Natnael. Hope you get there. All the best.

        • stay strong, Natnael. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
