Nakato needs a powered wheelchair - help us make it happen
A powered wheelchair would give Nakato independence - we're $650 away.
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Kenya649 views
Nakato lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Nairobi Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650.
Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Nakato could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $650 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $540
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $35

Thinking of you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless
Stay strong, Hamisi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Nairobi
