My taxi: Junaid's only way to earn a living

Without my taxi Junaid can't work; a $200 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my taxi. 6 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $200 goes: • engine head gasket replacement (parts): $130 • Labor charges: $25 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $35 • Towing and inspection: $10 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Junaid

Updates from Junaid

  1. Small update. $88 so far, I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 44% now ($88). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for towing and inspection is now scheduled.

  3. We're at 15% thanks to 2 of you. I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  • Sending love. Hope this works out for you. After 11 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Mobile

    • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 20 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
