My school-run minibus: Alice's only way to earn a living
Without my school-run minibus Alice cannot work; a $700 repair would put her back on the road.
🇺🇸 St. Louis, Missouri, United States1,261 views
I make my living with my school-run minibus. 8 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $700. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $700 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $90
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $310
• Labor charges: $300
Glad we found this place.

Hope things get better soon, Alice. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 22 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
