I make my living with my ride-share car. 6 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my 1 children. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $250 goes: • gearbox replacement (parts): $140 • Labor charges: $65 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $25 • Towing and inspection: $20 Glad we found this place. - Zahra

Updates from Zahra

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($30 in total) I made the first payment toward labor charges. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 2% now ($5). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for towing and inspection is now scheduled.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Zahra

    • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. gearbox replacement (parts) comes first ($140) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. I'll keep the page updated.

  • Good luck, Zahra. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Kota

    • Keep going, Zahra. Shared it with a few friends.
