I make my living with my ride-share car. 5 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $2,050. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $2,050 goes: • clutch assembly replacement (parts): $1,200 • Labor charges: $310 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $390 • Towing and inspection: $150 Thank you for reading my story. - Julia

        • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Edmonton.

          • so sorry you're going through this, Julia. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Hialeah so I could bring a meal.
