My motorbike: Kato's only way to earn a living
Kato drives for a living in Nairobi, and a broken clutch assembly has stopped all income for 6 weeks.

I make my living with my motorbike. 6 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $350. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $350 goes:
• clutch assembly replacement (parts): $230
• Labor charges: $60
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $60
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Keep going, Kato. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Hope things get better soon, Kato. Hope you get there.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Brampton this morning. Love from Brampton.
So sorry you're going through this, Kato. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Thinking of you and your family, Kato. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings
