My food truck: Maria's only way to earn a living
Maria drives for a living in Kraków, and a broken engine head gasket has stopped all income for 3 weeks.
🇵🇱 Poland800 views
I make my living with my food truck. 3 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $650. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $650 goes:
• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $490
• Towing and inspection: $70
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $90
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
Updates from Maria
Good news. Because of your gifts ($426 in total) I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Bergamo.
Good luck. Hope the shop reopens soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
Rooting for you, Maria. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Hope it all works out, Maria. I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Kisumu.
