My delivery van: Lourdes's only way to earn a living
Lourdes drives for a living in Quezon City, and a broken transmission has stopped all income for 4 weeks.

I make my living with my delivery van. 4 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $210. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $210 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $125
• Labor charges: $45
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $35
• Towing and inspection: $5
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Rooting for you, Lourdes. It takes guts to ask. Well done!
Hang in there, Lourdes. Small businesses are the heart of Quezon City. Hope you're open again soon. Put this on a community board in Jaipur this morning. All the best
Wishing you peace, Lourdes. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Take care.
Thinking of you and your family, Lourdes. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 20 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
Rooting for you, Lourdes. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Quezon City.
You're not alone. Hope you make a strong comeback. Thinking of Quezon City
