My delivery van: Allan's only way to earn a living
Without my delivery van Allan can't work; a $100 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my delivery van. 4 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $100. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $100 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $15
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $30
• transmission replacement (parts): $55
Thanks for reading all this.

Rooting for you. Hope you make a strong comeback. Put this on a community board in Cairo this morning. Love from Cairo.
Thinking of you, Allan. Hope you get there. Don't give up. Blessings.
Best of luck, Allan. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Addis Ababa.
So sorry you're going through this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
You're not alone, Allan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
Shared it with a few friends. After 20 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Lalitpur.
Best of luck, Allan. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless.
rooting for you, Allan. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up.
