I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at the Buenos Aires Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650.
My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $650 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• Fitting and training sessions: $100
• braille note-taker: $525
