Mobility fund: specialist standing frame for Roman in Hialeah
A specialist standing frame would give Roman independence - we're $750 away.
🇺🇸 Hialeah, Florida, United States224 views
Roman lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Hialeah Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750.
His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Roman could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $750 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $145
• Fitting and training sessions: $210
• First-year servicing plan: $395
With deep gratitude,
Ethan

Hope it all works out, Ethan. Your post was clear and honest!
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Roman
It's all in the list in the story. delivery and set-up is the big one at $145, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
So sorry you're going through this, Ethan. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 7 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Hialeah
Get well soon. Love from Liverpool
