Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Lorenzo in Savannah
Lorenzo needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $5,650.
🇺🇸 Savannah, Georgia, United States905 views
Lorenzo lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at Savannah General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,650.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Lorenzo could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $5,650 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $4,900
• Fitting and training sessions: $350
• Delivery and set-up: $125
• First-year servicing plan: $275
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
