Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Irmak in Ankara
A prosthetic leg would give Irmak independence - we're $150 away.
🇹🇷 Ankara, Ankara, Türkiye191 views
I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at the Ankara Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $60
• Fitting and training sessions: $75
Thanks for being kind about this.

Sending strength, Irmak. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Quezon City donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Semarang
Thinking of you. Hope you get there. My neighbor in Amritsar donated after I showed her your page.
you're not alone. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Love from Kyiv.
Stay strong, Irmak. Get well soon. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best
