I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at Indore General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,300.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $1,150
• Fitting and training sessions: $55
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $75
