A powered wheelchair would give Hossain independence - we're $400 away.

Sylhet
Hossain lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Sylhet Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400. His current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Hossain could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $400 goes: • powered wheelchair: $330 • Fitting and training sessions: $15 • Delivery and set-up: $10 • First-year servicing plan: $45 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Liton

    • Good luck, Liton. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

      • Thinking of you. Hope the doctors have good news. My husband and I read this together.
