Mobility fund: powered wheelchair for Galih in Depok
A powered wheelchair would give Galih independence - we're $800 away.
🇮🇩 Indonesia1,443 views
Galih lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Depok Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $800.
His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Galih could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $800 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• First-year servicing plan: $45
• powered wheelchair: $705
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
