Amit lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Varanasi General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750. His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Amit could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $750 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $55 • Delivery and set-up: $10 • powered wheelchair: $685 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
