Mobility fund: pair of hearing aids for Wangari in Kampala
A pair of hearing aids would give Wangari independence - we're $900 away.
🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda405 views
Wangari lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Kampala Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $900.
Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Wangari could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $900 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $800
• Fitting and training sessions: $30
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $40
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
