Looking for a friendly person in Peoria to visit Marisol once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Marisol, who's 89. Marisol lives alone in Peoria, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 574 kilometers away. Marisol loves local history, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I hope life is good to you.

  • sending good thoughts, Soledad. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Peoria.

    • everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Peoria.

      • looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Fort Worth

        • Hang in there, Soledad. Wishing Marisol a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

          • Sending strength. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
