I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the San Miguel de Tucumán Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,550.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $35
• pair of hearing aids: $1,450
• First-year servicing plan: $65
