Kasarani
I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Kasarani Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $750 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $15 • Fitting and training sessions: $65 • communication tablet with eye tracking: $670 Thanks for reading all this. - Kariuki
