Mobility fund: braille note-taker for Lawrence in Houston
Lawrence needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $3,750.

I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at Houston General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,750.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $175
• braille note-taker: $3,400
• Fitting and training sessions: $175
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
