Kadıköy
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Kadıköy Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650. My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $650 goes: • braille note-taker: $510 • Fitting and training sessions: $55 • Delivery and set-up: $30 • First-year servicing plan: $55 Every share and every dollar helps. - Hatice

            • Best of luck, Hatice. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Kadıköy.
