Mobility fund: braille note-taker for Fitzroy in Spanish Town
Fitzroy needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $2,050.

I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at Spanish Town General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,050.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $85
• Fitting and training sessions: $60
• braille note-taker: $1,905
Thank you for reading my story.

how is Fitzroy doing now?
it takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Zapopan
Thinking of you and your family, Fitzroy. Looking forward to the next update. After 15 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
