James was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in February. The surgeon at Southampton Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $6,450 short. my son has been in and out of Southampton Regional Medical Center since February. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, James struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time James won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $6,450 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $580 • Post-operative medication: $155 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $1,550 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $480 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,685 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Serenity
