I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at Lagos General Hospital has assessed me and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $350. My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $350 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $40 • adapted tricycle: $290 • Delivery and set-up: $20 Glad we found this place.

  • Thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Makati.

    • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Love from Tema.

      • hang in there, Halima. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
