Matthew served twelve years; now needs help to get home
Matthew served twelve years in the marines; $3,200 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served twelve years in the marines and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $3,200.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Essential household items: $520
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,400
• Transport to appointments: $280
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Wishing you the best. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too!
