María lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Buenos Aires Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,900. Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment María could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $1,900 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $40 • prosthetic leg: $1,800 • Fitting and training sessions: $60 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
