Lucy lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Machakos Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550. Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment Lucy could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
