Lotus Primary School needs a community fridge - Lin's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Los Angeles are raising $4,350 for a community fridge at Lotus Primary School.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States1,813 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $4,350.
It will serve about 136 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Materials: $3,600
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Tools hire and delivery: $360
Thanks for reading all this.

Good luck, Lin. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Khon Kaen.
Sending good thoughts, Lin. Hope you get there. We're a small family in Sandton but we're thinking of you. Love from Sandton!
Best of luck, Lin. Hope you get there. I hope September is when things finally get easier. All the best
