For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 291 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
• Materials: $270
Thanks for reading all this.

sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. Thinking of Biratnagar
Thanks for sharing this, Anjali. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Biratnagar
