Let's build a youth football pitch together in Montego Bay
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $900 for materials.
🇯🇲 Jamaica1,060 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 171 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $500
• Permits and inspections: $135
• Safety equipment and signage: $100
• Tools hire and delivery: $165
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Hang in there, Yvonne. Shared it with a few friends. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
