Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Cali
Volunteers in Cali are raising $1,150 for a solar-powered water pump at the Jacaranda health centre yard.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $360, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 404 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Materials: $800
• Permits and inspections: $85
• Safety equipment and signage: $110
• Tools hire and delivery: $155
